I'm probably getting a Panther P916jb cue for jumping and breaking and it has a G 10 tip. I have heard this tip can damage balls because it is harder than the balls so I was wondering how much truth there is to this. Also if it is true, what balls would you recommend buying that wont be damaged?

There's certainly a chance, but I can never tell if the damage to my pool balls is caused by the tip or from jumping off the table and hitting the floors, walls, and furniture. Any of the phenolic resin balls should be good though, even the lower end Aramith balls if you're on a budget. No ball set can be guaranteed not to be damaged.

I just bought a brand new set of aramith tournament balls. I damaged the cue ball after the first break. The g10 breaks awesome. But expect some damage to your nice set. Good luck

I every time spend my half an hour to read this blog's posts daily along with a mug of coffee.
