Snooker has one white, one yellow, one green, one brown, one blue, one pink, one black and 15 red balls. The white is the cue ball. A red is one, yellow 2 up to black 7. You pot a red and follow it with a colour of your choice. The ultimate score is 147 by potting all the reds following by blacks, 120 and all the colours as in the sequence above 27. If you foul on a red, yellow, green or brown you lose 4 points, on a blue 5, on pink 6 and black 7. The same applies if you go 'in off' the colour you are playing. The snooker is when you block your opponent, or in fact you do it yourself, from playing the correct ball or balls. If your opponent snookers you after a foul shot, you get what's called a 'free ball'. Any ball you choose scores and counts as the correct ball you would have had to play if you did not have a free ball. There is a correct spotting position for each of the balls including the reds which form a triangle behind the pink and in front of the black. I hope this makes sense.....
