Read up on the basics of the game (online you can find the basics) then go to a poolhall and practice shots. You may even find someone there who is willing to help you out.

You can't learn overnight by reading a book or watching a video. I would suggest you go to a local pool room and just hit some balls for a hour or so. This will at least get you used to holding a cue and striking the ball. Hope this helps.

Just practice on your own time at the bar or on a friend's table. Who cares if you're no good at first, nobody picks up a pool stick and is good in the beginning. Practice makes perfect, but I would recommend Willie Mosconi's red book. Just reading that book and changing my stance and the way I hold the stick made me a much better player.

If u want to learn pool just go to following link download game and install the cue club. In this game there is a option u can learn pool have fun...
There are many books and I think the ones written by Robert Bryne and Phill Cappele are best. I may have spelled their names wrong. There are also some good videos on youtube.
You can look up the rules on several websites. Good luck and I hope you enjoy pool

Ok, It's simple. When the balls are stacked in the triangle shape, the white cue ball is to break it. Then you pick either stripes or solids and stick to that one design and try to hit the balls in the pockets using the white cue ball. If you are able to get them all in, then you try to hit the 8 ball in....but you can't put the 8 ball in before the other designs or you lose the game. I hope I helped. There are also onlne games on addictinggames.com to help as well, and also on yahoo.

Try games.yahoo.com and check out Yahoo Pool.
It's pretty realistic and will help you figure out angles and stuff, even spin if you want to try.
It is also good just to learn the rules.
